Account Management Skills
Великобритания
Добавлен 17 июл 2014
Hello and welcome to Account Management Skills!
Typically I get invited in by owners or leaders of creative agencies (PR, advertising, promotions, marketing, digital, performance, experiential etc) who are frustrated their client service team are not growing the existing client business and don't have client development plans in place.
I am also contacted by account managers in creative agencies who are struggling to get promoted to the next level, want to increase their confidence with the client but haven't receive any training or coaching in how to manage clients, grow business and develop their skills. They feel this is limiting their career progression.
I don’t suppose any of this sounds familiar? If so, come over to accountmanagementskills.com to take the client growth quiz and find out how you are doing with client development.

Why agencies need to re-think project management, with Jack Skeels
Welcome to episode 116. This episode is for you if you are responsible for managing projects in an agency.
This one could be quite controversial, but equally very enlightening because my guest is going to be potentially challenging your belief about the role of project management. Jack's Skeel’s book is called ‘UNMANAGED’ and Jack makes a very compelling case for the fact that teams work more effectively when managed less, not more.
During this chat we cover:
• why agencies should be asking themselves what they need to start unmanaging rather than managing the origin of project management, and why it doesn't work in an uncertain environment like an agency.
• how less management can boost p...

Is there a way here so I can learn account management? please I want to learn but I don't know where to start
Is there a full video for this ma'am. I mean is this video part of a larger podcast?
I've got an interview for this role on Monday and I'd describe my self as a beginner in this field. Pleade enlighten me, should I go ahead with this?
This is great, so much valuable advice. Thanks Jonathan and Jenny (as always!). Darren @ Fellowship
So glad you enjoyed it Darren x
This is interesting but where would I find the transcripts? Not sure I've ever come across anything like that
this is so useful, I especially appreciate how you explained the different responsibilities 'hats' that account managers wear. You do this in such a digestible way!
You asked some great questions as host Jenny.
Thank you I appreciate that
very important video
Salespeople, all of us, must stop telling people what they want to hear and be willing to ask the hard questions so people are willing to get out of their EGO and look in the mirror. If salespeople reallly care about helping their prospects get the outcomes they both need and desire then we must be bold enough, once we have permission, to ask the really hard questions that 99% of salespeople will never, ever ask. Thanks Jenny for interviewing these 2 grumpy old sales people (tongue in cheek).
Haha thanks @mikeallisoncoaching
These 2 gents are fantastic. I love Marcus' point about "what am I not seeing? Why am I wrong? Who knows better than me?" This is why I continue to watch experts like this on RUclips, as it makes me a much better sales coaching and trainer. Thanks for the video.
Yes I agree they’re two of the best - and yes those questions are very profound. Thanks @mikeallisoncoaching
Buy my stuff!!!
Subscribed. This was excellent 💛
Thank you. They are superstars aren't they @Razorwireclouds5708?!
The Best 👌👌👌👌
Great job breaking this down. It definitely reflected my experience over the past 3 yrs
Thanks Jesseka glad it was useful!

Benjamin is the goat
My brain got fried. This is beautiful
My God this is some high level stuff. Extremely inspiring!
I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. They are the masters of selling!!
Another great podcast. Bring them on again!
They’re so good aren’t they Duncan?! I’ll try! 👍🏻
Great podcast, I appreciated the fact that you let him riff and ramble, only interjecting when appropriate. Very well done :)
Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed!
@@Accountmanagementskills great interview
Thank you Paul!@@paulashley3732
This is a Sales Master Class 👍
They are legends aren’t they @mma41?
Yes, so much gold here. Will have to watch this video several times with a notepad.
Great podcast. Honest feedback - I think most people like me would be able to relate to Benjamin more than Marcus. It's the way he explains the complex bits(psychology) with the most simple examples. Lots of golden nuggets for salesfolks and agency owners. And NO Benjamin, won't buy your stuff. I'll just keep stalking you over RUclips and LinkedIn and get everything I need(Just kidding,). Again Great show folks.
Haha thanks for taking the time to reply. That’s constructive feedback and I’m sure both will appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Nilesh. Everyone has their preferred learning style, and it's great Benjamin was able to provide explanations that resonated with you.

Hey lots of free podcast episodes talking about the role of an account manager in more depth here: accountmanagementskills.com/podcast/
So happy I found this video because none of this is being teached where I work. I work for a prominent company in the US as a BDR on the direct side and still found this video very helpful!
I'm so glad you found it useful!
Don’t stop I’m starting my position as a staffing agency account manager I would love some tips if you have some time.

What questions does accounting manager needs to ask the persons you want your money to be sent to
AM and PM? Sounds like you get lunchtime in this role!
Ah, of course. Working lunch. Account Management by morning and Project Management after dining key accounts for lunch. That's what it is.
😂 Often feels that way.
I have a question, if the account manager is the person to deal with the client in order to understand their business and bring the insight to project manager then why a project manager need to communicate with the client?
I think a project manager is like an internal “Account manager” but they may manage a certain product line. So the customer could buy 3 different products from a company thru the account manager. And then you have a project manager for each of those product lines. So each project manager is better suited to answer questions against the product they manage. Customer don’t want to be asking different people, different questions.
Hi you can check out the difference between a PM and AM and how they work by listening to this interview with an AM/PM duo working in a digital marketing agency: accountmanagementskills.com/how-an-am-and-pm-work-together-in-a-digital-agency-with-kate-vines-and-kiorthe-aghoghogbe/. Hope it helps!
Great episode! Mike is a clear and concise speaker

How are you?
Hi
If you target our country then you will get more than better viewers. Because there are no teachers like you in our country.
I want to talk with you, because as far as I know, you are the best learner and teacher of this sector.
